We’re excited to announce our very first Real Wedding at Holmewood Hall: Kam & Janine!
Tell us about the proposal – how and where did it happen?
On my 39th birthday, I was whisked away to Switzerland and Kam proposed to me on my birthday on the hotel balcony overlooking Lake Geneva…very romantic
What was your first step in planning your wedding?
Our wedding was organized and completed within 5 weeks. The first thing we organized was the registrar followed very swiftly by the venue.
Inspiration: Did you use blogs or magazines for ideas?
Didn’t use any magazines or blogs, staff at Holmewood Hall were excellent in providing us a list of what we needed to organise.
What were your wedding “must have’s”?
An amazing venue, fantastic makeup artist and a surprise Indian dress for the evening (which was a total surprise to Kam)

How did you search for your wedding venue?
We searched on the internet for wedding venues and fell in love with Holmewood Hall. Staff were brilliant and it didn’t phase them at all that we were getting married in just 5 weeks!!
What made you choose Holmewood Hall as your Wedding venue?
Beautiful setting, amazing staff who were very helpful
Styling your wedding: how did you personalise your big day?
Our wedding was a mixture of an English and Indian theme. The food and music was a complete mixture. The head chef at Holmewood was great in helping us personalize the food and getting it just right, making sure we catered for all!
How did you choose your photographer?
A friend of ours had recently done a family photoshoot with Jenny and was amazing. Highly recommended.
Describe your wedding attire
My English dress was beautiful and bought off the peg due to the short notice from Vow Bridal in Wansford. My Indian dress was purchased from a traditional shop in Leicester where it was custom made.
What accessories did you wear on the day?
I wore earrings that my mother and father had purchased me along with a matching bracelet from my chief bridesmaid on the big day. To make it even more special I wore some of my mother-in-law’s Indian jewellery in the evening with my Indian wedding outfit.
What did your partner wear?
A navy suit from M&S which looked amazing!
Tell us about your Bridesmaids, Groomsmen and their outfits
Our bridesmaids all had their dresses purchased from Vow Bridal in Wansford and had matching multi-way dresses which each one wore in a different style. Our groomsmen and sons wore matching navy blue suits from M&S.
What was your biggest wedding splurge?
My wedding dress
What was your biggest wedding saving?
Although my wedding dress was the biggest purchase it was also in the sale.
What was your ceremony like?
I love the music we had chosen to walk down the aisle to. My dad walked me down the aisle after my 3 bridesmaids.
Tell us about your drinks reception and wedding breakfast
Speeches were amazing and very touching. My dad spoke first, followed by Kam and then the 2 best men
Tell us about your first dance – what song did you chose and why?
Baby boys, a song that we both loved and one Kam could really get his teeth into:)
Did you have a band or DJ for your evening reception?
We used the Venue DJ

Not change a thing!
Did you go on a honeymoon or mini-moon?
Due to my father in laws terminal illness, we have not yet had a honeymoon although the night after the wedding we had a night at Hotel 33 in Hunstanton
