The up and coming bridal designers to look out for

One of the highlights of the wedding planning experience for the bride-to-be has to be shopping for the gown that she’ll walk down the aisle and say “I do” in. Whether you have your heart set on an ultra-modern or traditional dress, taking note of the bridal trends of the season offers an endless source of inspiration.

Whilst it’s easy to head straight to the well-known bridal designers for ideas, looking elsewhere to the lesser-known geniuses behind some of Bridal Fashion Week’s most stunning creations will ensure your wedding dress choice is ahead of its time. Shopping with an up and coming bridal designer also provides the opportunity to support smaller businesses, which is more important than ever these days.

Here we share the up and coming bridal designers to look out for right now so you can head off the beaten track in search of your wedding dress inspiration.

Hermione de Paula

From her London studio, Hermione de Paula is revolutionising the art of personalisation in bridal design with some truly stunning couture creations.

Personalisation has been a big deal in the wedding industry in recent years. But thanks to Hermione, you can have the messages, symbols and sentiments that mean so much to you and your partner hidden in the dress itself. Custom embroidery has become the designer’s signature with Hermione weaving everything from initials and wedding dates to entire love letters into her designs.

Hermione studied at the renowned Central Saint Martins before working at Dior Couture, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, so brides will certainly be in good hands.

Cucculelli Shaheen

New York City based bridal brand Cucculelli Shaheen may be a relatively new design house but the husband and wife team bring a combined 30 years of experience to the table.

Anthony Cucculelli and Anna Shaheen have reinvented traditional fairy tale wedding dresses using artisanship and highly considered details to modernise bridal couture. Their creations are works of art and made for the modern-day bride looking to wow in every respect.

Cushnie

Another NYC designer whose recently branched into bridal wear is Cushnie. Carly Cushnie already had a reputation for luxury women’s ready to wear and is impressing with her bridal creations too. It was her own wedding that inspired her to enter the bridal wear market as Cushnie explains in a recent interview:

“Launching bridal is something that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on custom bridal pieces for friends and family and have often re-created existing styles in white for customers who requested it for their wedding. My collections are always focused around the female form, creating clean silhouettes that make a woman feel both sexy and elegant. Bridal is the ultimate opportunity for me to do that in a really special way.”

Galvan

A bridal brand created by women, for women, London based Galvan is known for its cool and clean creations, which makes it a great fit for the fashion-forward bride.

Their designs are already favourites on the celebrity circuit with models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Emily Ratajkowski reportedly big fans. Galvan’s collection features stunning slip designs, beaded midis and super trendy bridal jumpsuits.
